Meet Our Lilies
At Lilies of the Field we don't just choose anyone to model for us, we choose women God wants to highlight! These women are very special and we would like for you to get to know them a little bit better. So without further adieu we are pleased to introduce you to our model Bliss!
Although she looks like a professional model, Bliss, age 24, is actually a ballet instructor and dancer. Ballet is truly her passion, and she is currently in rehearsals for the upcoming Nutcracker Ballet. Recently, we interviewed Bliss and would like to share some of her story with our readers. Bliss is a beautiful soul with big dreams and we hope she inspires you to reach for yours!
LOTF: Hey Bliss, thank you so much for doing this interview today. So, let’s just jump right in and start with a big question. What is your biggest dream?
B: That is a big question! There are so many, but my biggest dream is to travel to many places, bringing ballet to the streets and stages. I also want to create choreography that brings change.
LOTF: That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see what that looks like! We also want to know; how did you come to be a follower of Jesus?
B: I grew up in a Jesus-loving home, and first asked Jesus into my heart when I was 4 years old. I have always felt close to him in different periods of my young life, but I fully recommitted my life to him at around 16 years old.
LOTF: YAY!!! God is so good, right? Well, could you tell us what one of the biggest things God has taught you so far is?
B: Hmmmm, one of the biggest things He has taught me is that there is so much peace and joy when I get to know Him personally, and that His timing is precise!
LOTF: That is so true. I didn’t even know I could live in peace like this until God got ahold of me 4 years ago. So, what is God currently teaching you?
B: Right now, He is teaching me how to listen to Holy Spirit in the moment and to step out with His leading.
LOTF: That’s one lesson I feel like I am currently learning too! Ok, last thing. Could you give a word of encouragement to our readers?
B: Absolutely! I prayed about this earlier, and felt the Lord lead me to one of my favorite chapters in Romans.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
True Love is to surrender our hearts to him, realizing he has something new for each day. Sometimes the simplest acts of saying yes to Him are profound in His eyes. He loves us way too much!
LOTF: Wow, that is so true! Thank you for sharing that word with us! Well lady, that about covers it. Is there anything else you feel like sharing?
B: Actually yes! It’s kind of off topic, but when I put on the Joy dress to model it, I felt so classy and elegant. This dress reminds me of something Princess Kate of the U.K. would wear!
LOTF: Ha! That is so funny, because we thought the very same thing! You even look like her a little bit! Well Bliss, we want to thank you for taking the time to talk to us, and we can’t wait to see where God will take you dancing to next! We bless your dreams and your future!!! Amen!
